Amendments to the rules of criminal procedure.

The Florida Bar's Rules of Criminal Procedure has submitted to the Florida Supreme Court its regular-cycle report of proposed amendments to the Florida Rules of Criminal Procedure. The court invites all interested persons to comment on the committee's proposed amendments, which are summarized below and reproduced in full online at www.floridasupremecourt.org/decisions/proposed.shtml. An original and nine paper copies of all comments must be filed with the court on or before April 2, with a certificate of service verifying that a copy has been served on Judge Donald E. Scaglione, Committee Chair, Hernando County Courthouse, 20 N. Main Street, Room 359, Brooksville 34601-2817, and on the Bar staff liaison to the committee, Krys Godwin, 651 East Jefferson Street, Tallahassee 32399-2300, as well as a separate request for oral argument if the person filing the comment wishes to participate in oral argument which may be scheduled in this case. Further, if comments are directed toward the proposed amendment to Rule 3.170 (Pleas), the certificate of service shall also verify that a copy has been served on the chair of the proponent of the amendment, Judge Chris W. Altenbernd, Second District Court of Appeal, 1700 N. Tampa Street, Suite 300, Tampa 33602-2648. If comments are directed toward the proposed amendment to Rule 3.191 (Speedy Trial), the certificate of service shall also verify that a copy has been served on the proponent of the amendment, Michael Catalano, 1531 N.W. 13th Court, Miami 33125-1605. If comments are directed toward the proposed amendment to Rule 3.410 (Jury Request to Review Evidence or for Additional Instructions), the certificate of service shall also verify that a copy has been served on the proponent of the amendment, Judge James Hankinson, 365F Leon County Courthouse, 301 S. Monroe Street, Tallahassee 32301-1861. If comments are directed toward the proposed amendment to Rule 3.691(Post-Trial Release), the certificate of service shall also verify that a copy has been served on the proponent of the amendment, Larry Klein, Holland & Knight, 222 Lakeview Avenue, Suite 1000, West Palm Beach 33401-6148. The committee chair has until April 23, 2012 to file a response to any comments filed with the court.
