Bar launches LegalFuel, a resource center to bridge the gap between practicing law and running a business: Website provides information on every aspect of your business, from startup tips to marketing tools to best management practices.

The Florida Bar has launched a new online resource to assist Florida lawyers in the business of law called LegalFuel: The Practice Resource Center of The Florida Bar.

LegalFuel offers law office management and technology support for Bar members, a variety of free CLEs, and assists lawyers in running the business side of their law firms. LegalFuel also features an enhanced search that can quickly find articles on specific topics such as marketing or accounting, as well as providing a curated library of free webinars, podcasts, and more. LegalFuel advisors are also available via live chat to provide quick answers, in addition to advisors assisting by phone or email on practice management or technology issues. Lawyers may also connect and share information via online discussion boards.

"Attorneys are often faced with the daunting task of running a business in addition to practicing law, and LegalFuel was created to streamline their daily business duties so that they can focus on what they do best--serving their clients," Bar President Michelle Suskauer said. "As a small firm practitioner myself, the challenges of balancing clients while working to keep the lights on are real, and LegalFuel makes it easier to access crucial information specific to the business of law."

In a survey last year, Florida Bar members expressed the desire for more support for growing their businesses. LegalFuel provides timely guidance on firm management, marketing, finances and trust accounting, and hot topics like cybersecurity and new legal software. LegalFuel's frequently updated content will help firms run smarter, and can help all types of attorneys, particularly small firm and solo practitioners.

In addition to articles and checklists, LegalFuel.com offers free CLEs, including podcasts and a new LegalFuel Speaker Series, featuring well-known and respected Florida lawyers discussing relevant and useful topics such as "Social Media and Your Practice" and "Cybersecurity for Solo, Small, and Big Firms."

"These videos will break down a range of topics from technology to work-life balance and social media marketing," Suskauer said. "New Speaker Series videos, along with other great content, will be added all the time--and, if you have a specific question, you can always add it to the LegalFuel discussion board and connect directly with other attorneys throughout Florida."
