Florida Coastal launches Caribbean Law Initiative.

The Florida Coastal School of Law recently launched a Caribbean Law Initiative in conjunction with the Norman Manley Law School of the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica.

The initiative is designed to facilitate the process of legal reform in the Caribbean by providing students at FCSL, NMLS and other participating American law schools the opportunity to work with government officials responsible for proposing and implementing changes in the law and legal system.

Initially established by Florida Coastal and NMLS, the program already has expanded to include three other law school campuses of the University of the West Indies in the Bahamas, Barbados and Trinidad. Texas Southern University also recently joined the program.

According to FCSL, the program helps:

* Establish FCSL as a resource and partner in the process of legal change in the Caribbean Basin.
