Disciplinary actions.

The Florida Supreme Court in recent court orders disciplined 27 attorneys, disbarring 12, suspending eight, and placing five on probation. Some attorneys received more than one form of discipline. Seven attorneys were publicly reprimanded. One was ordered to pay restitution.

The following lawyers are disciplined:

Margaret Blot, 1990 NE 163rd St., Suite 206, North Miami Beach, publicly reprimanded and placed on probation for two years, effective immediately, following a July 2 court order. (Admitted to practice: 2005) A Florida Bar audit revealed that Blot was not in technical compliance with rules regulating trust accounts. As a result, two checks drawn on her trust account in the summer of 2008 were returned by a bank for insufficient funds. (Case No. SC09-972)

Jeffrey Scott Campos, 101 S. Ft. Lauderdale Beach Blvd., Apt. 1206, Ft. Lauderdale, suspended for 20 months, effective 30 days from a July 23 court order. (Admitted to practice: 2005) Campos was the subject of nine Bar complaints. He was involved in operating a law firm in which a partner was a nonlawyer. He failed to deposit client funds in a trust account as promised; his letterhead improperly reflected an address for a New York law office, and after retaining thousands of clients, he failed to communicate and diligently represent them--all violations of Bar rules. (Case No. SC09-1271)

Jason Andrew Cobb, 1073 Caswell Road, Defuniak Springs, suspended for 90 days effective September 19, following a September 3 court order. (Admitted to practice: 1998) Upon reinstatement, Cobb was further placed on probation for three years. Cobb pleaded no contest to possession of a controlled substance with intent to purchase, a felony. He was sentenced to five years probation, which included 11 months and 29 days in jail. Cobb was also negligent in the handling of a probate case. (Case Nos. SC08-2135 and SC09-1408)

Frank Michael Costanzo, 2800 Halcyon Ave., Baltimore, MD, disbarred for 10 years effective immediately, following a July 2 court order. (Admitted to practice: 1996) Costanzo was placed on emergency suspension in December 2008 for misappropriating client funds and abandoning his practice. After being served with the Bar's complaint at his address of record and by e-mail, Costanzo failed to respond. (Case No. SC09-14)

Brian Alan Coury, 2692 W. Lake Mary Blvd., Suite 1010, Lake Mary, suspended for 90 days, effective 30 days from a July 16 court order. (Admitted to practice: 1991) Coury was negligent in providing competent service as the appointed personal representative for an estate. (Case No. SC09-260)

Kenneth J. Dunn, 4500 N. Federal Highway, Apt. 107, Pompano Beach, disbarred for five years, effective retroactive to April 17, 2006, following a July 16 court order. (Admitted to practice: 1991) Dunn was suspended by the Bar in 2006. He violated the terms of the suspension by...
