Eleven judicial races decided, six go to runoffs.

Six circuit court races in Florida will be resolved by runoffs in November while another 11 were decided in the state's August 31 primary.

The voting also settled a handful of primaries in public defender and state attorney races.

In the judicial races, every contest with three or more candidates resulted in a runoff. Those results, according to state records, are:

* In the Fifth Circuit, Group 10, Stephen Spivey got 45.9 percent and Michael Takac 30.7 percent to make the runoff, eliminating Anthony Tatti who got 23.4 percent.

* In the Sixth Circuit, Group 22, Cynthia Newton with 31.9 percent and Jack Day with 24.7 percent will meet in the runoff. They bested Walter Schafer, Jr., with 20.8 percent, Bill Vinson with 12.4 percent, and Michael Berry, Sr., with 10.2 percent.

* In the Eighth Circuit, Group 9, Mark Moseley narrowly led Harvey Baxter, 32.9 to 31.4 percent. Eliminated were Dan Sikes with 15.5 percent and Craig Hall with 20.2 percent.

* In the 11th Circuit, Group 40, William Thomas and Catherine Parks ran neck and neck, with 30 and 29.9 percent respectively, to make the runoff. They led Jose Veils with 23 percent and Don Cohn with 17.1 percent.

* In the 12th Circuit, Group 2, Diana Moreland with 44 percent and Susan Chapman with 31.4 percent made the runoff. They eliminated William Salomone with 8.4 percent and Michael Mosca with 16.2 percent.

* In the 19th Circuit, Group 2, Gary Sweet with 30.9 percent and Bob Pegg with 22.9 percent will meet in November. They led Jim Harpring with 18.4 percent, Albert Moore with 11.6 percent, and Darren Steele with 16.2 percent.

Decided Races

In contests that were decided in the August 31 balloting:

* In the Fifth Circuit, Group 24, Willard Pope defeated Scott Wynn 53.6 to 46.4 percent.

* In the Sixth Circuit, Group 18, George Greer bested Jan Govan 65 to 35 percent.

* In the 11th Circuit, Group 3, John Schlesinger outpolled Teresa Pooler 57.1 to 42.9 percent.

* In the 11th Circuit, Group 32, Barbara Areces topped D. Bruce Levy 57.9 to 42.1 percent.
