Fairness?

Thank you, Sen. Maria Sachs, D-Delray Beach, for your 580-word letter to the editor dissertation submission printed in the May 15 News regarding our judiciary being under attack by the Florida Legislature, but quite frankly, let me cut to the chase.

The News' policy of limiting letters to 350 words has a pattern and practice of being ignored when the letter-writer toes the line of the Bar or the court, but strictly enforced when the letter-writer criticizes the Bar or the court for their shortcomings. How many letters were rejected for the May 15 News just to make room for the policy-violative one submitted by Sen. Sachs?

Changing gears on a different note, I ask my fellow Bar members to review the wide disparity between the discipline handed down by our court, also reported in the May 15...
