FSU tops the July bar exam.

Graduates from Florida State University had the highest passage rate for those taking the July Florida bar exam. The Florida Board of Bar Examiners released the results from the July bar exam September 18.

A total of 2,410 people took the exam, 893 from out-of-state and the remainder in-state graduates. The FBBE also reported that 947 took the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam in March, 346 from out-of-state and the remainder from the 10 Florida law schools.

FSU topped those who took Part A and Part B of the general bar exam; 163 of the 185 FSU grads passed, or 88.1 percent.

"We are all thrilled," said FSU Dean Don Weidner. "The credit, of course, goes to our May graduates."

The University of Miami was next, with 192 of its 224 graduates passing, or 85.7 percent. Almost in a dead heat were the University of Florida (160 of 197 graduates passing, or 81.2 percent) and Stetson University (132 of 163 students passing, or 81 percent).

The bar examiners reported the following passing rates for the other law schools: 49 of 62 students from Florida International passed, or 79 percent; 107 of Florida Coastal's 142 students passed...
