Gay adoption.

My blood was boiling after reading "Family Law Section to file gay adoption case amicus" in the February 15 News. The vote by the Board of Governors on January 30 sanctioning an amicus brief on such a divisive issue has gone too far.

In the article, President-elect Jesse Diner equated a ban on homosexual adoption with segregation and discrimination against blacks in the 1950s, and Dennis Kainen recounted memories of the Holocaust. Also, Ervin Gonzalez was quoted in the article as stating that "simply because they are gay they are not allowed to adopt." The clear message by the Board of Governors and those quoted in the article is that their views are enlightened and represent the views of The Florida Bar. Excuse me, but may I have my First Amendment right back?
