Insurance panel hearings set.

The Bar's Insurance Practices Special Study Committee will hold public hearings November 4 at the Doubletree Resort, 3011 Maingate Lane, Kissimmee, and November 19 at the Hyatt Regency Miami, 400 S.E. Second Avenue, Miami. Both hearings begin at 10 a.m. The panel seeks comments on the following issues:

* Whether practices of certain insurance companies constitute UPL.

* Whether practices of insurance companies give rise to conflicts of interest or other violations of the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar by defense counsel.

* Whether practices of insurance companies compromise the quality of the defense provided to Florida insureds.
