Jury instruction panel seeks a new member.

The Supreme Court Committee on Standard Jury Instructions in Criminal Cases is now accepting applications for membership.

There is one vacancy.

The committee is charged with updating the criminal jury instructions based on changes made to Florida law or opinions issued by the Florida district courts of appeal, the Florida Supreme Court, or the U.S. Supreme Court. The committee meets two to four times a year, usually in Tampa for only one day. All appointments are made by the chief justice.

Any Florida lawyer may apply for appointment. An application form for membership can be found at the Supreme Court's website at www.floridasupremecourt. org/jury_instructions/index.shtml.
