Survey seeks lawyers who have served in the U.S. armed forces: new feature allows members to update their profile.

The Florida Bar is asking its members who are--or have in the past--served in the United States' armed forces to complete a short military service survey online at floridabar.org.

Daniel J. D'Alesio, Jr., chair of the Bar's Military Affairs Committee, said the survey was developed to properly recognize, at appropriate times, the military service of members of the Bar; to tap the knowledge and expertise of these members in developing programs and activities to help fulfill the legal needs of current and former members of the armed forces living in Florida; to inform those taking the survey about the Military Affairs Committee's initiatives and programs; and to a develop a comprehensive mailing list to ensure wide dissemination of that information.

The original survey was launched in 2006 and more than 1,600 members of the Bar responded.
