Senior lawyers.

Regarding the recent letter expressing concern over prior suggestions for a senior lawyer discount: I agree that if a "distinguished senior lawyer" is still practicing, then regular dues and CLE requirements are in order.

But if a "distinguished senior lawyer" no longer has an office and is not practicing, then there are few if any Bar benefits to be enjoyed and no need to take CLE courses on subjects no longer of interest.

So for those who simply want to continue to support the Bar in some small way, I renew my request for CLE exemption and partial dues for anyone over 85 who has been a member of the Bar for over 55 years.
