Thirteen running for five Board of Governors seats.

Thirteen lawyers are running for five seats on the Bar Board of Governors in the 2011 board elections. Seventeen other lawyers were also elected to the board unopposed when the filing period ended December 15.

For the Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors, there are four contested races, while 20 lawyers were elected without an opponent.

The Bar Board of Governors will have contested races in the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, 13th, and 15th circuits.

In the Fourth Circuit, Seat 2, Arthur Hernandez, Reginald Luster, and Michael G. Tanner, all of Jacksonville, filed to replace John J. "Jake" Schickel, who is running for Bar president.

In the Fifth Circuit, Seat 1, incumbent Denise A. Dymond Lyn of Inverness is being challenged by Lawrence S. Kibler, also of Inverness.

In the Sixth Circuit, Seat 2, Sandra Fascell Diamond of Seminole and Michael J. Faehner of Clearwater have filed to replace retiring board member Murray B. Silverstein.

In the 13th Circuit, Seat 3, Thomas R. Bopp and Margaret Diane Mathews, both of Tampa, filed to replace Gwynne Alice Young, who is running for Bar president.

In the 15th Circuit, Seat 4, Stanley Dale Klett, Jr., of Palm Beach Gardens, Gary S. Lesser of West Palm Beach, Seth A. Marmor of Boca Raton, and Ronald P. Ponzoli, Jr., of West Palm Beach have filed to replace Lisa Small.

* L. Norman Vaughan-Birch, Sarasota --12th Circuit, Seat 1.

* Lansing C. Scriven, Tampa--13th Circuit, Seat 2.

* Gregory W. Coleman, West Palm Beach --15th Circuit, Seat 2.

* Edwin A. Scales III, Key West--16th Circuit, Seat 1.

* Eugene K. Pettis, Ft. Lauderdale--17th Circuit, Seat 3.

* Timothy Bailey, Pompano Beach--17th Circuit, Seat 5.

* John Mitchell Stewart, Vero Beach --19th Circuit, Seat 1.
